How can I pay?
I use PayPal as my payment processor, so I accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, even if you don't have a PayPal account. If you have an account, you can pay using your PayPal balance. E-transfers are happily accepted by emailing to firstname.lastname@example.org (no password required).
Is your site secure?
Yes. You pay through PayPal, the world's premier electronic payment solution, not through this site. We never even see your credit card number; PayPal just tells us that you've paid and we ship your order. We get your money through PayPal later.
Do I have to have a PayPal account to buy?
No, you can pay with your credit card without a PayPal account.
Do you have a layaway or installments option for paying?
Yes. Here are the instalment terms: A separate invoice will be sent to the email address entered at checkout. Your place in the production schedule will be reserved, but actual production will not begin until a minimum of 50% of your order total has been received. Deposits are used to purchase the materials being cut for your order and are non-refundable at that time. Fit is guaranteed with custom patterning or we will re-make. The balance of the order total may be paid in 4-6 instalment payments. The balance must be paid in full prior to shipping/pick up. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Where are you located? Are all your products made in Canada?
There is no retail location. Every creation is 100% (and proudly) made in Canada.
How long is production time for custom orders?
Production times on custom orders vary, but usually settle around the five to seven month mark but can stretch longer during peak season. Mukluk orders confirmed by March 31st will be in line for fall delivery. Christmas cut-off is June 30th. These cutoff dates are subject to change. Feel free to contact us directly to confirm.

How quickly can I get a ready to ship item?
When you buy a ready to ship item, it will be packaged and shipped within 48 hours. Typically, shipping times are 2-4 days within Canada or 1-2 weeks to the US depending on location, remote locations can take longer. Custom-made DIY Kits will be created and shipped within approximately 1-2 weeks. Tracking information will be provided to you once the item is shipped. *Please note, once the item has been shipped, the actual shipping time is beyond the control of Northern Heart Designs and in the hands of the carrier.
How are shipping costs determined?
We use Canada Post as our primary shipping carrier. We use their Expedited Parcel service, which includes tracking and insurance. We utilize our small business discount and still charge rates to you, our customer, lower than the actual cost. Please know that we, in no way profit from shipping charges and absorb part of the costs. Please note, with any small item, that is shipped "letter mail", this does not include tracking or insurance. If you would like to upgrade, please let us know and we can provide a new shipping quote to you.
I live in Winnipeg, can I pick up my order?
Yes, pick up is an option. Simply choose that option in checkout.
Can you use exclusively man-made materials?
Absolutely! I can accomodate your requests for only man made materials to be used. Please contact me for more information.
